Refund policy
Returns
We have a 30-day return policy: you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a change-of-mind return, your item must be unused, in its original condition and in its original packaging. Cookware that has been cooked with can't be returned for change of mind, for hygiene reasons and because we can't resell it. You'll also need your order number or proof of purchase.
To start a return, email us at hello@thecastironshop.co.nz with your order number. We'll reply with instructions and the return address. Items sent back without requesting a return first will not be accepted.
For change-of-mind returns, return shipping is at your cost, and we recommend a tracked courier since cast iron is heavy and we can't refund items damaged or lost on the way back. Original shipping charges aren't refundable. If the return is our fault (a faulty, damaged or wrong item), we cover the courier both ways.
Damages and issues
Cast iron is tough, but enamel can chip if a parcel is thrown around. Please inspect your order when it arrives and email us within 48 hours with a photo if anything is defective, damaged in transit, or not what you ordered. We'll arrange a replacement or a full refund, including shipping, at no cost to you.
Non-returnable items
We can't accept change-of-mind returns on used cookware, special orders brought in specifically for you, or gift cards. This doesn't affect your rights if an item is faulty.
Exchanges
For a different size or colour, the fastest route is to request a return for the item you have and place a new order for the one you want. That way the replacement ships straight away instead of waiting for the return to travel back to us.
Refunds
We'll notify you once we've received and inspected your return and confirm whether the refund is approved. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days. Banks and card companies can take a few extra days to post it. If more than 15 business days have passed since we approved your return, email us at hello@thecastironshop.co.nz.
Your rights under New Zealand law
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. If a product has a manufacturing fault, you're entitled to a repair, replacement or refund regardless of the timeframes above, and Chasseur, Pyrolux, Swissmar, Garcima and Avanti products all carry their manufacturers' warranties, which we honour as the retailer.
